Fault F66

Fault F66 is shown on the tumble dryer display.

Fluff filters are soiled.

Clean the fluff filters.

Fluff has accumulated in the heat exchanger.

Carefully vacuum up any visible fluff or soiling.

The plinth filter in front of the heat exchanger is soiled.

Fig. 1

To remove the plinth filter, press the round indented area on the heat exchanger access panel to open it, see Fig. 1.

Fig. 2

Pull the plinth filter out by the handle, see Fig. 2.

Fig. 3

Pull the handle out of the plinth filter, see Fig. 3.

Clean the plinth filter thoroughly under running water.

Squeeze the water out of the plinth filter thoroughly.

The plinth filter must not be put back dripping wet. A fault may occur.

Use a damp cloth to remove any fluff from the handle.

Fit the plinth filter back on the handle, making sure it is the correct way round, see Fig. 3.

First insert the handle – with the plinth filter attached – over the two guide pins.

The word Miele on the handle must be the correct way up.

Push the plinth filter in completely.

The act of pushing in the plinth filter will also push in the right-hand guide pin.

Close the heat exchanger access panel.

The tumble dryer is only to be operated with the plinth filter fitted correctly and the heat exchanger access panel closed. The access panel must be closed correctly to ensure that water cannot leak from the condenser system and to ensure that the tumble dryer functions properly.

The tumble dryer has been overloaded by placing too much laundry inside.

Take out some of the laundry.

Start the process again.

The ventilation grille under the door is obstructed.

Remove objects that are obstructing the ventilation grille under the door.

Ventilation to and from the dryer is insufficient (e.g. because it is installed in a small room). This may have caused the temperature in the room to rise sharply.

In the case of condenser dryers, please observe the following points as well:

When drying, open a door or window to ensure sufficient ventilation.

The plinth filter is encrusted.

Fig. 4

Using too much detergent during washing may result in white encrustations on the edges and front of the plinth filter, see Fig. 4.

Wash the plinth filter separately in the washing machine without detergent at max. 40 °C with a spin speed of max. 600 rpm.

The plinth filter is damaged or out of shape.

Fig. 5

If the plinth filter is cleaned incorrectly or if it is very old, it may tear or deform, see Fig. 5. It will no longer fit tightly. Fluff will get into the heat exchanger unfiltered.

Replace the plinth filter.
