Powder detergent left behind in detergent drawer

Powder detergent is left behind in the detergent drawer of the washing machine. A large proportion of the detergent does not get flushed through during dispensing.

The detergent drawer is dirty.

Pull out the detergent drawer until resistance is felt.

Press the release button.

Remove the detergent drawer.

Clean the detergent drawer with warm water.

The detergent drawer casing is dirty.

Use a bottle brush to remove detergent residues and limescale from the nozzles inside the detergent drawer.

The water connection pressure is too low.

Clean the water inlet filter.

Select a programme that uses more water (Water plus).

Powder detergent used in conjunction with water softeners tends to become sticky.

Clean the detergent drawer as described above.

In the future, add powder detergent to the compartment first, and then add the water softener.

The washing machine is not aligned correctly.

The washing machine must stand perfectly level on all 4 feet to ensure safe and proper operation.

The 4 adjustable feet are used for levelling the washing machine. The appliance is supplied with all feet screwed in.

  • Using the open spanner supplied, turn the counter nut (2) in a clockwise direction.

  • Then turn the counter nut (2) together with the foot (1) to unscrew.

  • Use a spirit level to check the washing machine is standing level.

  • Hold the foot (1) securely with a pipe wrench.

  • If the counter nuts are not screwed tightly against the housing, the washing machine may move around during operation.

    Turn all 4 counter nuts until they sit firmly up against the housing, including the ones for the feet that have not been unscrewed.

  • Use the open spanner again to screw the counter nut (2) tight against the housing.
